| About Me | " The pleasure is the most important driving force to bring musicians and audience together in one harmony. The desire and passion are the key to electrifies the audience and musicians. And the pleasure, desire and passion are the most important elements to drive Masatoshi Sato to play, compose and teach. Masatoshi Sato was born in 1984 in Japan. As a child he began learning piano, but switched to electric bass guitar and later upright bass. When he was thirteen, he moved to Montreal, Canada, there he discovered so many varieties of music as well as jazz and Indian music. He was inspired by Charlie Haden at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2005 and decides to move to Los Angeles, California. He attended to California Institute of the Arts to study with many great minds including Charlie Haden, Darek Olse, Peter Rofe, Joe Labarbera, Larry Koonse, John Lindberg. He has been playing in Los Angeles area as well as outside US with his trio and many other bands." |
