| About Me | "Previously, Mr. Arakelyan served as Graduate Assistant Conductor of Western Illinois University Orchestras and Founder and Music Director of Cadence Chamber Orchestra in Seattle. He was one of eight conducting fellows invited to participate in Seasons Festival Academy where he conducted the Yakima Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Arakelyan graduated from Cornish College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Music and Lark Conservatory with a performance diploma. He studied flute with Paul Taub, Dr. John Barcellona and chamber music with Bern Herbolsheimer and Stephen Stubbs. His conducting studies are with Adam Stern. He participated in numerous festivals: Idyllwild Music Festival, World Fest, BuFest, Seattle/Los Angeles Art Walks, Winterfest Seattle and Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival. As a flutist he appeared as a soloist with Lark Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions, Cornish Baroque Ensemble and Women’s Choir of Los Angeles. He has taught flute and chamber music at Saturday Conservatory in Pasadena, Five Star Music and Cypress Music and Arts. He played in masterclasses with renowned masters Dr. Stephen Preston, Sir James Galway, Shigenori Kudo, and Dr. John Barcellona. Mr. Arakelyan has recorded with artists in Los Angeles and Seattle and has appeared on Univision, ARTN and Horizon television networks. Mr. Arakelyan has played at well-known venues such as Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall and Shrine Auditorium." |
